Lesson 2 of 40
๐ textFree previewEnergy is the real currency
We talk about managing time, but time isn't really the constraint โ energy is. Everyone gets the same hours; almost nobody has the energy to use them well. An hour when you're rested and focused is worth five when you're drained and foggy. Manage your energy and your time takes care of itself.
Where your energy actually goes
Energy isn't a fixed daily allowance you spend down. It's generated and depleted by how you live: good sleep and movement generate it, chronic stress and poor food drain it, and most people run a permanent deficit without noticing, because they've never felt anything different. They think low energy is just who they are. It usually isn't โ it's an accumulated result of habits, and habits can change.
The compounding of small drains
No single bad night or skipped walk matters much. But energy works like money: small, repeated drains compound into a chronic deficit, and small, repeated deposits compound into a surplus that changes everything. The person who sleeps well, moves daily, and eats decently isn't just marginally better off โ they're operating in a different gear, with reserves the depleted person can't imagine. The gap between the two isn't willpower. It's accumulated habits.
Why this reframes the whole course
If you think of health as vanity โ looking a certain way โ it's easy to deprioritise behind "real" goals. But if you see it as your energy supply, it moves to the front, because every other goal runs on that energy. You're not choosing between your health and your ambitions. Your health is the fuel your ambitions burn. Neglecting it to work harder is like skipping fuel to drive further.
